6 Electric Scooter Riding Tips To Swear By

electric e bike

Electric scooter riding is rising, and it is all set to revamp urban transportation. Not only is it convenient, but it also has the potential to decrease traffic congestion.

However, all that glitters is not gold. Many people have got injured using two wheeler electric scooter. Thus, it is time to change this for the better. While riders are at fault, there are external factors too that can't be controlled. However, the right tips can help you enjoy the experience and make it a smooth ride.

1. Keep Your Eyes on The Road

While this seems like a no-brainer, it's not an uncommon habit to enjoy the view and observe whatever is going around you.

Please remember you have limited suspension. A pothole or bump can easily knock out your balance, and you might end up in the hospital. Besides, most people are not yet used to e-scooters in the streets. So, make it a rule of thumb to focus on the road and keep your speed low.

2. Keep Both Hands on the Handlebars

Checking your phones on a 2 wheeler electric scooter is a big no-no! One minute you are checking out a video, and the next second you end up with scrapes on your arm and leg. Say goodbye to one arm riding, and remember that you have less ground clearance for cornering, and you are more likely to face the bumps and jolts.

If necessary, stop your bike, do the needful and then carry on with your ride.

3. Use Proper Head Gear

Out on the road, there are always things you cannot control. Not all crashes are preventable so saving yourself is a must. A good dealership for electric scooters will provide you with good helmets and train you on their proper use.

As far as helmet selection is concerned, you need a bike helmet, but if you are willing to go that extra edge, we suggest purchasing a full-face helmet. Mountain bike or motorcycle helmets will work well for this. Make sure you only buy from a certified purchaser and test the helmet. You must also look for ASTM F1952, Snell, and CPSC certifications.

4. Slow Down Before Turning

Quite a few accidents happen when people look back over their shoulder. The main issue here is that you may lose your balance as your focus point continuously changes and your body weight shifts.

To combat the when looking back, always slow down. It will be easier to maintain the electric scooter balance, but the impact on the ground will be far lesser.

5. Have Proper Lights

One thing that top electric bikes in India lack is proper lightning. This is extremely important for visibility in low-light settings. If you're out at night, you will want to see the road, and others should also be able to see you.

Most of the front lights on e-scooters are not enough to illuminate the path in front of you. Thus, we strongly recommend getting an external one with more lumens and getting it fixed on your handlebar. Also, make sure you tilt your headlight slightly downwards to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.

6. Get Eye Protection

You may be thinking: If I get a helmet, why do I need eye protection? Well, if the helmet you're getting doesn't have any type of visor, getting a separate pair is a good idea.

Well, one of the most annoying things, when you travel at high speeds, is that bugs and dust will get in your face - and sometimes in your eyes. These can be extremely irritating and dangerous.

You will lose your focus from the road and inevitably scratch your eyes. But, again, you will end up one arm riding, which is detrimental.
