Changing the future of self-driving and converting it from a dream to reality is the goal of most. Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers today. Even large manufacturers like advancements related to self-driving cars, electric bikes for adults, and others should include EVs.
The best electric scooters and cars are betting high stakes on automation, and this is why electric vehicles are getting popular day by day.
The Current Scenario
Hands-off driving or autonomous vehicles have been considered a distant reality. Be it e-bikes or any other vehicle; people are still skeptical if they can sit back and enjoy the ride? As per JDPower, there are no fully autonomous cars on the road in the U.S. yet.
For the same, The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) has developed a set standard for ranking a vehicle’s automation level. This is just to understand how drivers should handle their cars.
Here is what you need to know about it:
Level 0- In this, a driver has complete control of the vehicle at all times. However, the vehicle may have moments of automation and alerts like emergency braking.
Level, 1-The driver will need to guide the vehicle but will have another level of hands-off driving, such as some steering or brake or acceleration support and even adaptive cruise control.
Level 2 includes both steering and break and acceleration support. It also offers features like lane centering and adaptive cruise control.
Level 3 means that even though you are in the driver’s seat, you are not driving during automated functions. In this stage, the driver might need to take over when requested. The person behind the wheel can only self-drive if certain conditions are fulfilled.
Level 4 includes level-three automation but will not need the driver to step in. Such a vehicle may or may not be built with pedals or a steering wheel. However, these vehicles cannot operate in severe weather.
Level 5 is a fully automated vehicle and can be used for driving in any condition. The only human interaction needed at this level is to set the destination.
To date, there are no applications that are available at levels 3 to 5.
What Is Being Done To Improve The Situation?
The hands-off vehicle technology is in line with EV advancements. EVs. As per the CDC, about 1.35 million people die in vehicle-related accidents each year. Manufacturers are working day and night to find solutions to this serious issue.
With more EV sales being boosted by GM and the support of superpowers, electric commissions will be cut drastically by 2035. This will also lead to other advancements and revolutionize the making of automobiles.
Ambarella, an AI business headquartered in California, discovered why AV and EVs are developing hand-in-hand. One of the few reasons includes large fleet management organizations trying to cut down on the costs per mile.
Another reason is that AVs can help EVs drive more efficiently. Thus, they can easily support their need for a better driving range. So, it will be safe to say that advancing along with EVs is much more than saving a few bucks at the pump.
Gemopai To Rescue
This was about the world. But, what about the best e-bikes and other vehicles in India. Is there an organization that is working on the same? Well, the answer is a big yes!
Gemopai is a joint venture between Goreen E-Mobility and Opai Electric. They are the largest manufacturers of electric vehicles in the world. Opai has 15+ years of experience in manufacturing quality electric 2 wheelers, and it has sold more than 15 million electric 2 wheelers worldwide.
Goreen E-Mobility and Opai have signed MOU for joint venture technology transfer. Besides, they have also signed cooperation agreements for further developing electric two-wheeler models for the Indian market.
Did you know, Gemopai was one of the earliest brands to support a portable Li-ion battery since its launch last year in 2018.
With all these achievements in its kitty, Gemopai is all set to revamp the way hands-off driving is perceived in India! So, what are you waiting for? Check out the site today to know more!
